Edmonton Kids Photo Shoot Session Prep Guide With Suzi

I am so glad you are here! If you are reading this you may have already booked with me, or are thinking about it. Yay! My clients are the heartbeat of my business. You are my passion, my excitement, and my dream! I have put together a step by step guide on how you and your little(s) can prepare for their kids portrait photography session with me.

Having 2 kiddos 18 months apart, I am *fully prepared* for whatever your toddler throws my way! All those sweet & scary expressions.. Please don’t let the fear of unattainable perfection keep you from booking that session! These little cuties are growing so quickly, so let’s capture some adorable (and sometimes hilarious!) images together. (See some examples here!)

Here are some tips to help your portrait session run as smooth as possible:

• What to wear: The best clothes (especially for black and whites portraits) are light coloured plain items. If you can avoid words, obnoxious images, and neon colours that would be best. HOWEVER.. don’t fight too hard on this.. if your little guy simply *must* wear his bright orange dino shirt, bring it on.
• What to bring: You can bring any of their favourite things to help ease them into a new space. Maybe your little one wants to help me take a picture of bunny first? Maybe they want to sit on their favourite blanket? Us mamas have to stick together and *do whatever it takes*. 😉
• What to prep: Feel free to download their favourite show on your phone. I’ve gotten pretty good at holding my camera in one hand and Cocomelon in the other..
• What to expect: I will email you my address and phone number the day before your session. You can park in the driveway and text me when you arrive. We will go through the back door and down the stairs to my heated and cozy home studio located in Aldergrove, 2 minutes from West Edmonton Mall.
• We will take our time to let your little one explore the studio before we start prompting them to sit!

Choosing your photos: Once you are home I will go through all of your images and narrow it down to the top 20-30 photos. I will then email you a proofing gallery of the unedited images where you will be able to choose your favourites, and any enlargements you might be interested in displaying in your home. Once you have finalized your selection, I will begin editing for you and deliver your online gallery within 2-3 weeks.
