Edmonton Mommy and Me Photos Prep Guide With Suzi

Whether you are already booked for your Edmonton Mommy and Me Photo Session, or you stumbled upon my Mommy and Me Photos blog post first (where I try to convince all moms to get IN FRONT of the camera!!) I am so happy you are here!

The thought that we will one day hold our kids for the last time without knowing it pops into my mind on a regular basis. I fully believe that even though the days are long, the years are so so short.. So let’s preserve the connection between you and your sweet little(s) with a Mommy & Me Photoshoot! (See some examples here.)

Having 2 kiddos 18 months apart, I am fully prepared for whatever your little one throws my way! All those sweet & scary expressions.. Please don’t let the fear of unattainable perfection keep you from coming. These little cuties are growing so quickly, so let’s do this now!

Here are some tips to help your edmonton mommy and me photography session run as smooth as possible:

• What to wear: The best clothes are honestly just simple items. If you can avoid words, obnoxious images, and neon colours that would be best. HOWEVER.. don’t fight too hard on this.. if your little guy simply *must* wear his bright orange dino shirt, bring it on.
• What to bring: You can bring any of their favourite things to help ease them into a new space. Maybe your little one wants to help me take a picture of bunny first? Maybe they want to sit on their favourite blanket? Us mamas have to stick together and *do whatever it takes*. 😉
• What to prep: Feel free to download their favourite show on your phone. I’ve gotten pretty good at holding my camera in one hand and Cocomelon in the other..
• What to expect: I will send you a confirmation email the day before your session that will contain my exact address (2 minutes from West Edmonton Mall). You can park in the driveway and go around to the back door where I will meet you and bring you to my heated and cozy studio.
• We will take our time to let your little one explore the studio before we start prompting them to sit!

Choosing your photos: Once you are home I will go through all of your images and narrow it down to the best images. You will then receive a proofing gallery of the unedited images where you will be able to select your favourites, and any photography products you would like to purchase. Once you have finalized your selection, I will begin editing for you and deliver your online gallery within 2-3 weeks.
